Honoring the life of Peggy Rogers

HEAL United mourns the loss of Peggy Rogers, who was a valuable member of the HEAL United community.

By Christy Swaid

My dear friend Peggy Rogers peacefully went to be with the Lord last night.

Peggy was a woman of faith, wit, humor, and grit. She and her late husband, Maurice, who were married for 73 years, shared a church pew with my family for more than 20 years at Homewood Church of Christ. They never missed a Sunday or an opportunity to lovingly critique our timeliness, our choice of clothes, and shower our boys with love.

An avid golfer, Peggy insisted she would “drive for show and putt for dough.” She and Maurice added strength and joy to our lives. Peggy is dearly missed, and her memory will forever bolster my faith.

Peggy was also a beloved and dedicated member of the HEAL United mission. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to HEAL United, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in honor of Peggy Rogers.

Memorials may be made online at https://healunited.org/donate-to-heal/ — please note “In Honor of Peggy Rogers” — or mailed to:
