Christine Baker
Board Chair
Christine Baker is currently the Director of Regulatory Pricing and Costing Services for Alabama Power. With over 20 years of electric utility experience, Christine is responsible for providing cost-effective options for customers. She has also held various positions in Marketing, Power Contracts, Load Research and Financial Analysis and most recently served as assistant to the Alabama Power Chief Financial Officer.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Christine earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Auburn University in 1993. She lives in Hoover with her husband, Brian and their daughters, Jodie and Megan.
Christine dedicates much of her time encouraging others to embrace opportunities and realize their potential. She was active with the Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama with both her daughters, and believes in the organization which promotes courage, confidence and character while making the world a better place.
Attention to women’s higher education is important to Christine. She served two terms as a faculty in residence for the Auburn Women’s Leadership Institute where she mentored college women. She also serves as a member of the 100 Women Strong organization which provides resources and programming to attract, support and retain female students in the Auburn University College of Engineering.
She is a 2012 graduate of the Momentum Women’s Leadership program focused on building female leadership in Alabama. Christine currently volunteers with the Alabama Power ICan program, which exposes female middle school students to the field of engineering through hands-on learning in the classroom.
Building healthy lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke is a mission important to Christine, and why she is a member of the Heart Guild of Birmingham supporting the American Heart Association. Christine believes that through education, support and encouragement we can help others to live their best life.
