Sherrie D. LeMier

Sherrie LeMier graduated from the University of Alabama in 1979 and majored in Accounting. After several years of working with other companies, she came to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama in 1986 where she began her career as an advanced staff accountant. She was employed with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for over 23 years where she last served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. In 2008 she was promoted to the roll of which she now serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Cahaba GBA, LLC which is the Medicare Affiliate of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.

She received her Master in Business Administration Degree in 2004. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Alabama Council on Economic Education, a non-profit organization that provides effective economic education training for teachers and classroom programs for students in grades K-12 at both public and private schools, the Board of Directors, HEAL, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to reverse the rising childhood health epidemic of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and early signs of heart disease through a school curriculum as well as a family and community outreach program. She is a member of University of Alabama Women’s Initiative Program. The C&BA Women’s Initiative is a mentoring program that fosters the career development of undergraduate and graduate women in business through educational sessions and one-on-one mentoring with leading executives in business. She serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the March of Dimes Walk for Babies and is a Board member of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of Momentum.

Sherrie lives in Hoover, Alabama with her husband Robert Alvin Potts. She is the mother of three children. Brandon, age 21 is a senior at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, majoring in business. He is on an athletic scholarship, playing soccer for the Chargers. Rachel, age 19 is a sophomore at Auburn University, majoring in Psychology. Her step-daughter, Alison Potts Shirley lives and works in Birmingham with her husband, Patrick.
