Pork Chops with Sautéed Apples
Rich in protein, niacin, and vitamins C and B6, this recipe is great for building muscles.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp oil (canola or vegetable)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 4-4 oz. boneless fresh pork chops
- 2 Tbsp butter, divided
- 1 large red apple with skin, sliced
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- 3 Tbsp maple syrup
- 6 tsp Dijon mustard
Recipe Directions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 Tbsp oil and swirl to coat.
- Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper. Add to pan. Cook until internal temperature is 180º (about 3-5 minutes on each side). Set chops aside.
- Add 1 Tbsp butter and apple slices to pan; sauté for 2 minutes. Add chicken broth and bring mixture to a boil. Stir in ⅛ tsp salt, remain 1 Tbsp butter, syrup and Dijon mustard. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Divide chops among 4 plates and top evenly with apple mixture.
